I am having a problem with an old win98 machine that i want to turn into a print server. I replaced the CD-ROM, as it was broken, during which i pulled the floppy drive out as well. I then placed both back into position. Now everytime i boot the machine i get the follow error:

02B2: Incorrect Drive A Type - run setup.

I have run setup with no luck. I have also checked the cables / replaced the floppy & IDE cables / tried a different floppy drive / removed it from device manager & rebooted / even tried booting with no floppy drive or CD-ROM plugged in at all. I have also reset the BIOS. I would love to update it, but i have no A drive!!!! or CD-ROM for that matter.....

Has the motherboard got it's self in a tangle?

Can anyone out there got any other ideas i could try....???

    thanks

This is not referring to windows setup, but the BIOS setup. When the computer boots up, you see a message 'Press DEL to enter Setup'. This gets you into the BIOS.
You seemed to have checked the obvious, such as the cables.

Unplug every drive except the floppy.
Go to BIOS and try autodetect on floppy (only drive).
Boot from floppy 6.22 or 7.0/7.1/8.0 boot.

If not then mb shot. Sorry.
Having problems with this board .. even dos 3.3 boot disk should work.

    Best

Does this computer happen to have a Iomega Zip Drive attached to it? If so, remove it.
