    I downloaded MSN mess. 6 on XP and I have 4.7 that came with a pervious system. Everytime I log on to the net, it logs me out of MSN mess. 6 and says You Have Been Signed out because you have been Logged onto another Location. I've tried permanently uninstalling 4.7 with a tweak but it only ******* up MSN 6 so I had to reinstall it, hence the same problem all over again. I've even tried taking it off the startup list with msconfig.
    How can I keep 4.7 from signing on at the same time as 6 if I can't delete it?? Thanks

    - Turn off system restore while you are doing this.

    - Edit sysoc.inf to remove the "hide" term while leaving the commas so that
    msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7 becomes
    msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,,7
    (note: don't forget to save the sysoc.inf file after the change)

    - Control panel~add/remove should now show you both your MSN versions.

    - remove them both. Reboot. Reinstall V6. Turn system restore back on. Reboot one last time.

    I am running XP and I have the same problem. I did a search for the sysco.inf file and changed the information by removing the hide and leaving the commas, saving and existing. But the older version still does not show up in Add Remove Programs. When I turn my computer on it always signs me into the older version and then I have to sign into MSN messenger 6.1 because there is no way to sign out of the older version since it does not show anywhere.
    Please help as this is VERY annoying.

    If you remove the newer one, does the older version show in add/remove after you've done the unhide in sysoc.inf?
