    Hi,
I am very unsure if I should risk installing Direct X9b.
I have a Photoshop Tutorial on CD and it requires Direct X9 to play the Video I have Direct X8 installed on my PC und it works fine for what I normally do. I just don't know if my ASUS V9180 Magic GeForce 4 Video Card is capable to handle Direct X9.
What, if I should install it is the correct way to install it. I have downloadet it and it is in the Windows Temp Folder.
Anyone with good or bad experiance I would like to hear from for that matter any advice would be good.
    thanks

Start\Run, type in Msconfig and press Enter. Click on Startup tab.
Disable anti virus and firewall software from starting up, or anything else. Leave both Powerprof and Systray, and reboot. Install then reboot as part of the process.
When done, enable what you have disabled.

If you have a problem w/it, do a search for DirectX Buster. It will actually un-install directX from your system and you can re-install 8.0

I have tested the program and it does work...

    Hi,
Thank you all I have installed the version 9b und all is well.
I did read here that some people had problems with 9 and the general advice was don't change unless you have to.
In this case I had to, but I was very concerned.
I had heard of Direct X Buster and it is good to know that it actually works so thanks for that.
    regards
