I am posting this on behalf of a friend. He is on narrowband dial up. His e-mail has stopped working and he is getting very frustrated. His ISP`s helpline was no help! (six minutes into the peak rate call and the operator was still having trouble with his name!)

When he clicks on send/receive he gets a message saying 19 messages waiting, but they won`t come through. He wonders if there is a big file blocking the others, but doesn`t know how to get rid of it.

    Can anyone offer any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

See if his server has webmail. Go up their website and look at the mail there. He may be able to delete/clean out what ever is causing the problem.

If his ISP doesn't have web mail, he could download Mailwasher which will allow him to view the messages on the server and delete them, if necessary, without downloading them to his computer.
