    Hello,

Whenever I try to view a PDF file (on or off the web), a stoopid little installation application starts which tries to install Windows Journal Viewer.

Unless you wrestle with your mouse, playing a racing game with the progress window (clicking repeatedly on the Cancel button), you never get to see the PDF file/page.

By the time you've managed to cancel all those repeating progress windows, and cancel from the other box which asks you where the setup program is, then you're too annoyed to take in the info in the PDF file...

Anyway, what on earth is Windows Journal Viewer? Is it any use at all to people with home PCs running Win XP SP1? Whenever I search for Windows Journal Viewer on the internet, all I find is references to Tablet PCs.

Hope someone can help me. Would it make sense to uninstall it completely?

    Hi PeteC,

Thanks again for your help. This looks exactly the solution I was hoping for.

    Have a nice day!
