I have a problem with Windows freezing up. It's seems to be caused when opening a new window. When this happens, I can still move the cursor but can't click on anything. Using ctrl/alt/del gets it working again, but it only works for a few minutes. It started a few days ago and has been getting progressively worse. Now it has started to lock up when restarting. Ctrl/alt/del will get me past this as well. Has anyone heard of anything like this?

Are you ending a task with C-A-D? Which one, if you are? How is C-A-D resolving the freeze?

Have you tried a System Restore to a date before the problem?

Another thing you might try is a different mouse (I don't think a mouse would cause the system to freeze at boot, but I have worn out the "clickers" before) and you could try uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling the mouse software, too.

Post back if none of this helps, there is plenty more to try, but I like to start with the basics.
