What is Winsock? What's its purpose?
Has anyone heard of a utility called "WinsockXPFix.exe "? Is it safe to run on Windows 98 SE? AND Will it correct problems with IE6 Sp1?

Chubby--Let us know the outcome. And if you still have problems, can you give us more details, like error messages?

    Jim...Thanks again for the sites.
I will do what you have suggested about scans.
After I go through my cleaning procedures and scans, I will use DriveImage2002 and make a clone before trying any fixes...so it may take me awhile before you hear from me again about how IE6 responds to the fixes.
