Have to ask, why can't you boot from a cd? Have you been to the BIOS and set it to boot to cd-rom first? And not sure what 3 diskettes you're referring to. Are you wanting the XP Setup Disks?

EDIT- Too fast for my fingers Reboot!

    Good link Newt. Bookmarked!

The link Newt gave shows F10 on Compaqs, but try F8 also.
You mentioned it's an older PC. Is it running XP?

In this moment it's not running anything, nothing is working to get into setup, this is a Compaq Armada 1530 model ( I hate those Compaq computers , evrything is so complicated there).
    Thanks

    A word of warning:

I have an Armada 1500c that I still use and that works fine. But-------

Most of the hardware on that little machine was extremely Compaq proprietary. All the drivers for audio, video, modem, etc. had to be downloaded from Compaq, and they do not support any operating systems that the machine did not originally ship with.

Mine came with Win 98 and I'm running ME on it with 98 drivers. I wouldn't even try XP on mine due to the strong possibility of never finding suitable drivers.

But, if you go with it, I'd be curious how you come out. You can always just format afterward if it doesn't work.
