I have recently upgraded from W98 to W2K but I still use Word 2000 (a new installation from the W2K disks). Now every time I close Word I get a warning "Changes have been made that affect the global template, NORMAL. Do you want to save these changes? ". This happens even when I just open Word and close it without doing anything. I have tried deleting the file 'Normal.dot' and letting Word rebuild it, but to no avail.
How can I put things straight?
    David

In Word 2003 it in Tolls, options, save. Uncheck the box 'prompt to save normal template.

Thanks jdover. Trouble is I have Windows 2000. Where can I find 'tolls'? Or is there an equivalent?

johnD's keyboard ...... ;) ...... misspelt Tools. I think that You´ll find it in Your version of Word in the same place. I do in Word 2002.

Indeed it did and he noticed it just after but mistakenly made the judgement that it would be understood and didn't need corrected. Sorry.
