setting new printer

I had to do a complete recovery with my vendor's recovery disk and must reload my printer driver. Supposedly ,(and this happened before on my first install) all I need do with this printer is plug in the USB, turn on the printer and driver installation will start.

My system is psychotic and when I do that, it asks me to install the drivers for my scanner, which has already been setup and works fine. I've tried several times and as soon as I plug in the USB plug, that scanner request comes up.

 

Problem solved. I went to the Canon website and downloaded the drivers with instructions. Psychosis cured.
