I've got a dual boot system with W98 and W2003 server (eval version) installed on it. There are 2 4GB hd's and I'd like to remove w2003 and reinstall w98.

However I'm not able to use fdisk to set things up and not sure how to proceed.

    The layout is:

    disk 1:

    c drive - w98 boot
    e drive - w98

    disk 2:

    d drive - w2003 boot

I did manage to reformat drive d after booting w2003 but fdisk won't let me remove the disk 2 partition to recreate.

Hope this makes sense, the d drive partition's label shows up as

    * REMOTE * and won't delete with fdisk. Similar kinds of problems with drive1 partitions.

Is the proper thing for me to format somehow in w2003? What can I do here?

    fixed it

I finally figured out that I had to reboot from the w2003 cd first to properly reallocate my hd partitions so that I could then reboot from the w98 floppy to run fdisk and format.

W98 new install is starting for the first time -- as they say -- right now.

For some odd reason instead of getting

    disk1
    1 gig - C
    3 gig - E
    disk2
    4 gig - D

I got disk 2 as 8 meg on D and the remaining 4 gig on F. If all works well I'll just live with it I guess and try and learn for next time.
