    Hello

Can anyone recommend an easy to use audio file editing software package?

We are using a Sony Minidisk player to record people talking about our town. We want to be able to edit these files and then record them to cd for archiving.

    Cheers!

An easy to use and free (open-source) Audio Editor is Audacity found at Audacity at Sourceforge.
It's not the most advanced editor available, but it's perfectly serviceable for minor editing, and it's got the added bonus of being free.

If you wish to export the edited files out as MP3's you'll need the LAME encoder, the source code for this is also available at Sourceforge, but if you want a compiled binary you're better off looking here, go for the stable version.

For a more advanced and commercial Editor there's Adobes recently aquired Audition, you can find it at Adobe.

    Thanks Laage

That's a great help. I'll have a play with Audacity at work next week and let you know how I get on.

    Cheers
