    For an unknown reason I cannot get the updates. I tried from th link on th program, no luck. I just tried the two lines on your post. Cannot get to it.

    I went to the Web Site and downloaded the short file to rid of the other thing that is crowding the program. Said it wasn't present.

    Today I downloaded the newest version v149.0 and it won't check for an update. Do you have any help to offer for this.

    Lonny Jones--Merijn's sites are still down for me. So is http://www.spywareinfo.com
    But you can get CWShredder from Major Geeks as you mention and you can get HiJackThis here

    though I know nothing about that site.
    Probably best to run Antivirus on files downloaded from either place.

    Mudd--V 1.49 is the latest version so you do not need an update. You can't get one anyway even if it existed, since as mentioned (all of) Merijn's sites are not working.
    They are being attacked (Denial of Service) by the people who wrote CoolWebSearch.

    Where did you learn that? Who is "They "? The people over at LurkHere (usually pretty knowledgeable and friendly with Merijn) are recommending CWShredder v 1.49

    Thanks for pointing out the missing H Welshjim
    was Coyotes typo not mine :)
    Tom Coyote,Galidrail , Mike helean, etc etc, those people are recommending 1.48.0.2 because 1.49.0 in some rare circumstances plays havoc on win XP 2k systems

    All the downloads can be accessed using the link on the left panel. The version of CWShredder offered is 1.49.
    (Unless of course this is a spoof site by CoolWebSearch!!)
