    Hi,
I had two partitions on my main drive and I used partition magic to merge them into one. When I did this it wanted a folder name to put the information from the one partition in. Since there wasn't anything on the partition it put a folder named "System Volume Information" in the saved folder as a subdirectory. To make a long story short I now cannot delete this folder even though it has no useful purpose or information in it. I've tried safe mode and a program that is supposed to delete it on bootup but so far nothing I've tried has worked. Does anyone know how to delete this folder? I allready have a folder with the same name under my C drive so this one is just an annoyance.

    Thanks For Any Help

System Volume Information is a hidden protected system folder in which System Restore data is kept - there is one on each drive protected by System Restore and they cannot be deleted.

I kinda figured that. Problem is I now have two of these folders. The one I'm trying to delete is c:\****\system~1
Can I put a string in the autoexec.bat file to delete it on system startup?

I've never used the merge feature in PM and I don't have PM installed right now so I don't really know the answer to this question; is there a way you can unmerge the two. If so, what I would do is seperate the two and then delete the partition without any data on it. This is assuming the two of them are side by side. Can you merge them if they aren't? Then use PM to resize the one you kept using the free space created by the deleted partiton. This is what I always do rather than merge the two. Don't like the folder setup you spoke of. If there's two partitions next to each other that I want to join and they both contain data, I just copy the data off one of them to another one and then do as I stated above.
