blank to the right of 'Start"

Hi Everyone,

I have an annoying problem that happened recently.

With dial-up, using OE 6, I now see 2 'Verifying Passwords', with log-on then happening just fine. E-mail comes through just fine.

Over from the right of the 'Start' (bottom left), the 'Outlook Express' box is there, and SO IS A BLANK BOX ALSO. Tried of clicking on this, and it then does disappear with one click.

Cannot find anything in the topics on this type of 'blank'.
Do I have a 'ghost double' operating somewhere in Outlook Express? In the 'Accounts'?...where one needs to be verified twice?
Seems I have two of something?

This occurs on my system also, when screensaver kicks in. Then I bump the mouse. Screensaver goes away, but the blank box is still there. I just click it.. Wish I had an answer for you.

 

Blank taskbar buttons often go away after a reboot.

Just happy all of you feel it's not some minor worm sneaking in everytime through Outlook Express.

 

Do you have two accounts?

 

Have just one account our server provides. Plus have the 3 hotmail accounts that can be downloaded into Outlook Express to read the emails.

Just never had the double 'verifying password' in the dial-up sequence before. So I attributed this to the blank box at the bottom to the right of 'start'.
