    Could someone tell me if there is a way to backup my address book in Outlook? I am backing up all my files to transfer to a new machine and can't figure out how to backup or navigate into my address book.

    Download the backup program from Micro$oft.com or use this path;

    "c:\Documents and Settings\[username eg administrator or John etc]\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

    Ok, so I found where they are stored, but how could I reistall them in the new computer? It's not like the favorites list in IE where you can just copy the old list into the favorites file. Confusing.

    You'll need to have a copy available on the new PC (but somewhere besides where you have Outlook loaded) and then import the data from it.

    No, that's not necessary. Just copy it on to a cd, copy that to the new pc and overwrite the outlook.pst on the new pc.

    If there is an archive.pst file you should copy that also as you may be archiving old data automatically and wouldn.t want to lose it either.

    Thanks John. I went back and copied that one too. Those were the only two in the file, so I guess I have everything.
