I have a new computer on the way and have a ton of files to transfer from my exsisting machine. I have a second hard drive installed in my current machine for bulk storage. Couldn't I just drag and drop all the files I want to trasfer into that harddrive and then install it into the empty second hard drive slot of the new computer and reverse the dragging and dropping? Thanks for any thoughts.

Thanks for the quick answer Newt. Another question if I may. I had help installing this second drive into the exsisting computer and can remember if it was a simple plug in and go situation or will I have to change settings or bios for the new machine to recognize the additional drive. Thanks again.

Chances are it's a plug and play situation. Check the jumpers on all three drives. If currently all cable select, good to go. If current is master/slave and new is master, plug and play. If current is master/slave and new is cable select, try cs/cs, if no go, use master/slave. In any case, it may be necessary to right click My Computer>manage>disk management, right click and initialize the second drive on new computer after installing.
