Waiting for email download

In Outlook Express 6 when attempting to download what is obviously a large email I sometimes get a message asking me if I want to wait a further 60 seconds. Is there any way that I can get Outlook Express to automatically wait without me having to click the 'Yes' button? Thank you.

 

This sounds like a "server timeout" , not a download problem. Try going to tools, accounts, mail tab, highlight your mail account, properties, advanced tab. Move the slider for longer timeout.

 

Thanks, aleecat, that's exactly what it was. I followed your instructions and set the timeout to 5 minutes. I'm much obliged.

 

If you have that much e-mail, i'd get Mailwasher and eliminate the spam before I started the download to my computer.
