    Need help,,just re-installed XP,,and sluggish!!

I had a partition on my harddrive get corrupted, and had to reformat it and reinstall Windows XP Pro. I had no problem reformatting this particular partition on my harddrive and installing Windows XP Pro. BUT,,now that I've done this,,things are kind of "sluggish "...When on the internet, when I scroll down any page,,it looks like I am reading through water, the page just kind of flows, distortedly towards the bottom. It isnt running as smooth as before. I check for proper driver on my mouse and it was installed, so I dont know what to look for exactly. Mouse is kind of slow also....any ideas what I might check? Running a Pentium IV 2.6GHz with Hyper Threading, L2 512 KB, Asus P4R800-VM motherboard, 512 MB, ATI Radeon 9200 graphics card, WD 160 GB, 7200Rpm,8MB cache...
    thanks,

Edit: I dont know if this has anything to do with the above problem, but I just discovered this tonight. I thought I had downloaded and installed the Windows XP service pack1(express) earlier today(I had left and returned a few hours later),but apparantly it did not complete install/download. I went to check updates, and it still had me requiring this one. I tried just now to download and install it again,,,kept getting this error message all the way through install "Windows Delayed Write Failed(then it lists the particular file it was downloading/installing) The data has been lost,This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save again..." Any ideas what this is talking about? I am using dial up internet service, and it is extremely slow, my 56 k modem, is actually only connected at 42.0Kbps...
    thanks, coadman

Figured it out! I didnt have all the drivers loaded! And I would probably still be trying to download them all if Iwouldnt have took the whole thing to a local computer shop, so as to use their DSL to download what I needed. Just the XP SP1 was going to take over 1 1/2 hours to download at thier place,,but a whopping 26 hours at my home!!!(This dial up internet is for the birds,,,,but supposedly DSL will be availble to me sometime this summer,,and I cant wait! In case you wondered,,I live out in the country)
