    Hi Guys and Gals,
I've run into a problem on my machine with OE6. I run AVG behind our firewall and have run the F-Secure exe in the last couple of days. Here's the problem, I am hitting send only once but the recipient of my email gets three copies of the email ( no attachments ) over the course of two hours or so. I know of four computers within walking distance of my office with the same problem.
Does anyone recognize this problem? Any recommendations? Any help greatly appreciated...cheers :)

Could be a number of causes.

Take one or two of the mutiple copies sent to a specific email address and open them up so you can see the header detail. If the header information is identical, post one of them here. If different in any way, post both.

Are you running Exchange Server on your network to handle your email? IIS?

We are running a virtual network on four XP machines (read small company no cash). We don't have a server for files, let alone mail, so no IIS either. I will get the sent emails returned and have a better look at them. Our incoming mail (four addresses)is handled through the company that hosts our domain name, while outgoing is covered by our ISP. The part that got me is that the other people who are seeing the same problem as me have no connection to me other than being in the same complex. Different ISP, company, hosting, everything.
Thanks for the quick reply, I'll get back to you ASAP, thanks again...

There may be a common server somewhere beyond the local ISP that is doing the deed. That's mainly what I'm hoping to get from your mail headers - some common relay point that has a problem.

After a little more digging I may have found the problem. Our account is with the big telco here and the others in the complex have theirs through smaller resellers. So, in a round about way we all end up going through the main ISP at some point. From what you have stated above it would appear that the ISP server is where the problem resides. I have sent them a note to inquire about this problem and we'll see what they come back with, I will post their response when I get it.
Thanks alot for your input and help on this Newt. I will keep an eye on the board and see if I can contribute down the road. Again, thanks for your help...

Signguy - hope they can get your problem fixed.

And for sure do stick around and help where you can.

It's sorta fun and digging for those little extra bits of information or to be sure you are giving correct information is educational.
