Step #1 - put the exact, entire error in here. Usually the cause of ntldr errors really isn't that the file is missing even if you are told it is.

    Newt.

    I couldn't edit your reply.

    It says.

NTDLR IS MISSING, PRESS ANY KEY TO RESTART. Does not restart when you hit any key.

tjv1960 - I merged your other single-post into this thread.

Sorry. My bad for not clearly saying what I meant. You can only edit your own posts. But I intended to have you do just as you did and create a new post to put the error into. I was just sloppy on how I phrased it.

Can you boot the 2K CD and get to the recovery console? If so, there are a couple of options available there that will correct the issue if it isn't a matter of the actual ntldr file being somehow gone or damaged. Take a look Here and take a look at both fixboot and fixmbr. Both will either be helpful or not helpful but neither will be harmful.

If neither of those works, you can also go into the recovery console and copy ntldr from the CD to c:\ (or wherever your OS starts from) and it will be expanded and placed where it is needed.

This will happen if you boot with a disk (any disk) in the floppy drive. It's happened to me.
