I would like to blame this problem on my left hand, but for 11 days since the accident, the optical Logitech trackball worked normally. Now I can't get it to highlight properly, it doesn't always click, and when it does, sometimes it double clicks. I pulled the ball out and cleaned the lens- no change. I updated the drivers from the website, no change. I had my husband try it (he's used to it from playing Spider) he said it wasn't acting right- had to rule out operator error because this left handed stuff is tricky, still!) I only have one other trackball in the house, and it's junk (it's on the kids' comp) and I can't use a mouse very well even when I don't have a broken arm, so that won't help. Anyone have any ideas before I go online shopping for a new one? ( Can't drive yet!) Thought about switching the buttons in the interim, but I'll prob get even more confused than I already am. This trackball is driving me crazy- any suggestions??
    TIA

Forgot to mention- it rearranges the text when I try to highlight, and the highlight won't "stick ". It also minimizes windows unexpectedly when scrolling down a page. It wont drag anything, either. I'm good with kb shortcuts, but I need a functional t-ball.

Logitech 9.78 presumably. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? I have problems sometimes with XP Pro on a Dell I8600 and my Cordless Trackman Wheel and that solves it.
