Well, like I mentioned in my previous post. I can't use 700mb(and they were memorex). Had to go to 650mb.
    Using Sony now.

I am printing off this entire thread to see what else I overlooked such as your previous post about your luck with the 700MB.

I certainly appreciate all the help I received here. I have learned a couple of things in the process, plus updated my software. <G>

Guess I'll be using those other discs for coasters since I've already tried to format them. Maybe they will still work as regular discs in Nero.

I wonder if this issue is with the Lite-On drives only. Is that what your drive is?

If the disks you used before were cdrw's like you said, you shouldn't have to throw them away. You should be able to erase the disk and if nothing else, burn them the normal way.

My burner is Aopen. And the 700mb disks, Nero couldn't do anything with them. I suspect it's the burner, but their site doesn't address this issue..

    RECODERS-DISKS

    Hi

Again I emphasize that I'm no expert but am learning. InCD claims to support XP. For a list of bugfixes in the latest version go to: http://www.nero.com/us/631981196828559.html If you read down and follow the version to version changes, there are many XP references. I haven't attempted to digest them.

I can't comment re 700 mb disks as I've not tried them but from my current and prior experience, I'd be inclined to look to the recorder as a possible source of problems. Newer high speed recorders seem to have corrected many earlier ills. I have an LG 52x RW while my wife has a Lite On 52x RW drive.

I've not tried to format a Memorex disk for instance but my old Lite-On drive could not even read Memorex among other disks. Lite On even acknowledged that some disks could not be handled. Now I can read Memorex and others, ever from the UK.

Today at work, I checked with the guy that said he used InCD and Nero with XP. He's the one that said he had experienced no problems. He happened to have one of the discs that he uses and of course it was the 74Min/650MB.

He doesn't know what brand his recorder is, but is going to check. I also am going to take him one of my Memorex 700MB discs and see if he has a problem.

My drive is a 32X12X40. Guess it's not the fastest!

Thanks for the Nero link. I will check that out.
