I set the number of results per page in my preferences in Google and Yahoo! to a number greater than and different from the default yet it will not do it. Why? Any help here. When I am looking for images it's alot easier to have a greater number displayed per page.

deanst2--If you do not let Google/Yahoo set cookies, or you delete cookies at the end of a session, Google/Yahoo cannot remember your preferences for a certain number of results.

deanst2--You have to allow IE to accept cookies (or not reject cookies), specifically from Google and Yahoo. Do you know how to do that? If not, post back with version of IE. (You could determine if you have a Google cookie, for example, by running a Find on *@google*.txt.)
P.S. I do not know if this is the solution, but it is one possible reason why Google/Yahoo would not remember your preference. If you do have a google cookie, then my idea is probably not the solution.
I presume you have clicked the "Save Preferences" button on the Google Preference page when you select the number of results/page you want. I have not checked Yahoo, but assume they have a similar button.

    deanst2--
    1)Did you do that?
The same would apply to a Find on *@yahoo*.txt. (If you do not know how to run a Find, let me know.)
2)Do you confirm you clicked the Save Preferences button in Google and equivalent in Yahoo?
The reason I ask is that knowing the answers simplifies the info I can provide. If you are not saving Google/Yahoo cookies, you will have to change your settings in IE Tools|Internet Options|Privacy tab. (Which by the way, what are they now?) But if you are saving the cookies already, then I am on the wrong track and I may not be able to help.
    P.S.
I have assumed this means that the next search you run on Google/Yahoo still gives you only about 10 results. If this is an incorrect assumption, pls advise.

    I get default 10 results.
I could not find google or yahoo with "find ".
How should my privacy setting read? Right now it's set on medium.

deanst2--If you cannot find a google or yahoo cookie, then something is blocking them. It could be a setting in IE Tools|Internet Options|Security tab|Restricted Sites, or IE Tools|Internet Options|Privacy tab|Edit. Cand you find google or Yahoo there? If so, remove them.
If that does not work, the easiest solution would be to put www.google.com and www.yahoo.com into your IE Tools|Internet Options|Security tab|Trusted sites. Personally I would not do it with Yahoo, but it is a matter of tastes. Maybe try Google first.
Once again, I caution you that I do not know from what you have told us whether the problem really is that lack of a cookie prevents your Preferences from being stored.
