format problems

    hi. at my school, i'm kind of considered the person to call if there is a computer problem. well, about 4 months ago, someone ******* up the install of windows. i tried to format the hdd but it says "format not supported on drive c ".

    Did someone try to install a NT based operating system [NT, Win2000, XP,]? If this is the case, the drive may have a NTFS file system, and the 98 floppy will not format it.
    In any case, I recommend getting Delpart, and use it to delete any and all partitions on the drive.
    Then use Fdisk to create the Primary Partition and make it active. Fdisk is sort of easy to use, menu driven.
    After exiting Fdisk, YOU MUST REBOOT before formatting.
