    Hello,
I've got / given help in here before, so I'm hoping someone can shed some light on my problem. I use windows xp home edition sp1, with internet explorer that came 'built into ' the os. I use juno as my isp, and tried an upgrade of their software to a newer version a short time ago. I didn't like it so I went back to the previous version. On the newer version, the software added an
additional 'toolbar' to the viewing space on the screen, that's the main reason I didn't like it. And it seems like ever since then I've had this small problem. I'm one of those people that don't want the status bar to show, but everytime I connect the internet and my home page loads the status bar is always showing. I've tried all of the tricks I've read to fix the problem, but so far it hasn't. I've of course went into the registry and made sure that the setting in the internet explorer main area that say 'show_status_bar says no. I really wish that there was some way that I could actually delete the status bar. Thanks in advance for any advice. My next question will be about where to go so that I can actually edit the default size of the 'standard buttons' on the normal internet explorer toolbar.

I suspect a Repair of IE would fix your problem, but is it really worth the hassle?

The only way I know of changing the button size on the toolbar is through View > Toolbars > Customise and select large/small icons - or do you want to go beyond that to a custom size? - probably not possible, but someone may post with a solution.

Don't know about changing the button size, but HijackThis might reveal that extra status bar setting. Worth a try!

mrckmn--When you "went back" to the earlier version of Juno, how did you do it? Did you Uninstall, probably using Control Panel|Add/Remove? Or did you Delete some files/folders, install the old version over the new, or?
Assuming you did not Uninstall, go into Control Panel|Add/Remove, scroll to Juno and click Add/Remove. Then reinstall whatever ever version of Juno you want.

When I removed the version of juno that I didn't want, I went to the add / remove section of control panel. I even went into the registry and deleted the keys pertaining to the removed software. I had already removed the old version of the juno software before I installed the newer version, but had the setup.exe file save on my computer so all I had to do was re-install the old juno version so I could get back on the net again. I hope this makes sense. I'm really thinking I might just go ahead and re-install windows xp home entirely agaim and start from scratch. I hate to though as really the status bar problem is really all I want to fix.
