    I think if you want the use of your scanner you will have to uninstall it completely and then reinstall it. I think I mentioned that installing this on top of an already existing installation is not recommended as indicated by Microteks own support faq's.

    Trying the fresh install is not going to leave you any worse off. Your scanner does not work! You can't make it "not work" any more than it doesn't now :D.

    The problem is your going to be doing this on your own. I can't give you a "step by step ". I don't have the scanner, the cd, any knowledge of any setup dialog boxes your going to have to hurdle or a crystal ball to walk you through this. All I can do is point the way to files that will help.

    Here they come again:

    This appears to be a one size fits all update to "scanwizard ". It supports all the devices in the list. Yours is on the list regardless if it is v300 v310 or E plus (whatever):

    Follow the steps provided for uninstalling and installing scanner:

    But review your own instructions. The install may fall somewhere in between the two: (You may wish to read the Manual that is suppose to be on the CD that came with your scanner.

    =======
    Things to keep in mind:

    Rule of thumb for avoiding problematic installs or uninstalls:

    Make sure nothing is running in the background other than explorer and systray.

    Reboots: both after removing something and installing something.

    =======
    Got my fingers crossed for you...:D
