I have 98SE and cable internet...

Here's the problem. Whenever I try to run a program, (usually a game) and I'm not online, the program won't run.

If I plug the cable modem in and get back online, the program runs.

I should add, this only applies to programs that tried to access the net when I started the program for the first time, and I created a rule to "deny or permit" with kerio.

I don't recall having this problem when I used dial-up. I could be off-line and all programs would run. So, it seems to be related to cable internet?

Is it just one game? All games? Right click on Kerio, select admin, then advanced. Look for your game and delete it. See if it will run now.

Okay, I must be smoking something. I just disabled all traffic and
everything started up fine, except for one program.

The one program needs to be "initialized" when you start it, so I'm sure that's why that one didn't start.

Oh well, I could have sworn nothing was starting the other day, unless I was online...really...honest...:D
