McAffe messages me that I don't have Active Shield properly installed. I can't even find it on this computer so I must have removed it if it was here. Is this important? Should I have it? Where do I find it?

Active Shield is that part of the McAfee Anti-virus program that runs in the background full time. You might check your McAfee program to make sure it's up-to-date on virus definitions.

If that's not the problem, you can try reinstalling McAfee.

If it came on your computer, it's a trial version and may have expired, in which case you need to either pay McAfee for a renewal or uninstall the program since without updates, it's next to useless.

I just chatted with McAfee support and they tell me to reboot and everything is fine.

Thanks for your help. Let's close this now.
