    Hello

I'm trying to set up an old Canon Canoscan 2700F 35mm film scanner on an XPPro machine. We're using an Adaptec USBXchange cable to connect the scanner's SCSI port to a USB port on the PC. This appears to have installed ok and when the PC is booted the scanner whirs and makes a few noises. In Device Manager it is shown as a USB Mass Storage Device, but has an exclamation mark through it as a driver cannot be found. The instructions imply that the driver is supplied by the scanner when it is first installed (Plug & Play?) but obviously this is happening. The Canon website doesn't have any drivers for this device.

I suspect that this device was originally designed for and used with 95 / NT but I'm sure it can be made to work with XP. I know it's a long shot with such a device but has anyone had a similar problem which they have overcome?

    Cheers!

If you can't find XP drivers, try the NT drivers. It may or may not work for you. I was in the same boat with my scanner (visioneer) when I first installed XP. On a whim, I tried the NT drivers and it's been working fine ever since.
