    yes i tried ther numerous sites but all seem to be about the sale of the product not the use

    I'm not certain, but I think webdetect is used by ICQ (among others) to monitor online/offline status.

    WEeb Detect appears to be a software installation for security purposes. It should be listed in Add-Remove programs.

    Thanks tony t but i dont seem to be able to see but i will re-install it and try to uninstall:confused:
