Not sure if I'm in the right forum for this one but here goes. I have been using Norton Internet Security 2001 with Verizon DSL - no problem with the NIS Live Update feature.

I just finished installing a wired, Belkin 4-Port Gateway Router and it is working fine. However, when I checked out my NIS Antivirus Status, is said there were no virus definitions. When I tried to manually start the Live Update feature, I got an error message:

" LU1840: Automatic Live Update is already running in the background. Please wait for this LiveUpdate session to finish before running LiveUpdate again."

However, it never finishes and is not indicated as running when I use Ctl Alt Del. It appears to be a communications conflict but I can't locate where to address the problem. Have had no success contacting Belkin and Symantec. And Symantec says they don't support 2001 in any event. Can anyone offer a suggestion? Thanks.

Problem gone. I uninstalled my NIS 2001 and reinstalled it and the virus tables are now up to date and all the firewall and antivirus features seem to be in place. Had to go through a lot of reconfigurations for internet access but it seems as though all is well.
