I have issue with the text copy quality! If I set for Text-B/W the text is so light on the copy it's unuseable. If I scan text in Photo/Text, the text is fine but it prints a faint blue background and takes a long time to do a simple text copy. I have tried all combinations with no luck!
    Any ideas?

I am not using a Epson scanner but the software I use when you do a scan copy you can adjust to make the copy lighter or darker. I would look into your copy software to see if that option is there.

yes I have worked with that too! Even if I set it as dark as it can go it is still very light.

Have you checked to see if your printer will allow you to print it at a higher quality setting? Don't know what kind of printer you're using so..... when the printer applet opens look for a properties button and check to see if you can change the quality. Mine offers four. Custom, draft, standard and high with standard being the default. The printers I've used have always been set to the medium setting by default so unless you've changed the default, your's most likely is too. Another thing you could try if you have the option would be to scan it in grey scale. It might make a difference. If you don't have that option, you could try scanning it in photo/text and then when you print it, select grey scale in your printer applet. It might work but I suspect the blue color you spoke of will probably still show up as grey. Worth a try though.

One more thought. Did your scanner come with any type of OCR software? If so, you could try using it to convert the scanned file to a text document and then print that instead.
