I don't recall over the past 2-1/2 years, while on-line, that my screen locked-up on me. Suddenly, over the last 30 days or so, in either Browser, primarily I.E., my screen will lock-up and maybe 10 to 15 seconds later, the mouse pointer freezes as well. Alt./Ctrl/Delete has no affect and of course theres no option but to hit the re-start button. All of my Browser settings are basically default.
My question is - what is the most likely cause for this type situation?
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
    Best wishes,

    Hiya

Lets try a cleanup. Go to Tools | Internet Options. General tab. Under Delete Files, delete offline content. Also, clear your history. Go to Adb=vanced tab, and under Browsing, untick Enable iNstal on Demand. Under Security, tick Empty Tempory Internet..... Apply and OK.

Now, try a repair. Go to Control Panel | AddRemove. Doubleclick Microsoft Internet Explorer. Choose Repair, apply and restart.

Go to Run and type MSINFO32
On the left choose Software Enviroment, then Startup Programs. Copy/paste the list here.

Also, go here and download AddAware http://tomcoyote.com/lsindex.html

Download and run, ensuring that Deep Registry scan is enabled. Remove all except any references to Web3000 or new.net. If you're unsure, copy/paste the list here.

Also, whilst you're there, download and install RefUpdate to get the latest updates. Just click Connect.

    Regards
