I tried a search, but only got posts about dual booting 2000 and 98se. I need to upgrade to 2000 and wonder about any problems loading it over an existing copy of 98se. Will it be pretty seamless, or are there problems that I can expect with configuration and my existing software?

    Thanks for sharing your experiences

If your 98SE load is clean and running well, the upgrade should be smooth and problem free. I would take the precaution of removing all temp files and temporary internet files then doing a scanreg /fix followed by a scanreg /opt (both from a DOS boot) and a safe mode scandisk before doing the upgrade.

It is possible that you have hardware or software that won't run with 2K at all or maybe software that will run only if you set the shortcut to use Win98 Compatibility mode.
