    i'm trying to share a adsl connection between 3 pc's with win98, and it i can't seen to get it to work...

    . i'm already installed the ics on the host pc and i attribuid the following ip to the network card : 192.168.0.1 / subnet mask :255.255.255.0. And the gateway 192.168.0.1 (if i don't define a gateway the network doesn't work)

    . on the client computers i attribuid the gateway 192.168.0.1 and automatic ip.

    . the network is working ok, only the shared internet connection doesn't work.

    there r some network components that i don't really know what to do with them, like :
    - NDISWAN -> WIP_AME PPP over Ethernet Miniport
    - WIP_AME PPP over Ethernet Miniport -> WIP_AME PPP over Ethernet Protocol
    - WIP_AME PPP over Ethernet Protocol -> ADSL.PT (...)

    . the sharing of files and printers is activated, and i desactivated the firewall just to make shure it wasn't because of the firewall.

    . I've already tryed more confifurations, and also i already unistall the network components and install them again just to make shure, but nothing works..

    . if anyone has any ideas please tell me (maybe the use of an alternative software may help). Tanks in advance...
    . please don't sugest a router...

    PS: i wish i could explain this better but my english is not perfect.

    The network should function perfectly well internally without any gateway since that is only used to allow the PCs to find things outside your local (3 PC) network.

    Does the host PC connect to the internet properly?

    .Yes it should, but it doesn't, if i define the ip 192.168.0.1 and the subnet mask on the network card that links to the other pc's and i don't define the gateway, the local network doens't work (can't connect/ping the other pc's).

    .And yes the internet on the host computer works just fine.
