AVG 6.0 And SoftHome Web Mail running from Outlook Express

    Hi,

I have a problem running AVG 6.0 to check the virus on the sending message. Usually, the checked message will have a confirmation on the last line saying: "Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system/……." I can send the message, but it never reach the receiver. It was returned baxk to me saying:

I’m using AVG 6.0, AVGEMC 4.83 (AVG E-Mail Control), Windows 98 SE, Outlook Express 6.0 SP1 and I’m also using Softhome web mail operated thru Outlook Express.

I checked http://SoftHome.net/help/popfirst.html, but the page never opened. I also sent a message to postmaster@mail.softhome.net., but they never reply.

I follow the guidance for setting the email control in AVG, but it seems fail. Maybe my setting was wrong.

So, I hope the people in this board who ever use AVG, Softhome web mail running from Outlook Express 6.0 who success to set the email control on AVG to share their knowledge to solve my problem.

    TIA,

    Yasmin

I have seen you have posted this before. The page http://softhome.net/help/popfirst.html opens for me. But doesn't give any info on your problem. Next try sending your problem to support@SoftHome.net. But your asking for a very small audience who uses, OE, AVG and uses softhome as their mail. Have you tried uninstalling AVG and reinstalling?

    Hi, Aleekat.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I aware it’s very limited users who use AVG, OE and Softhome Web Mail Service. And, yes, I already tried to uninstall and reinstall AVG several times, but without any good result. This problem doesn’t occur with other webmail account like GMX. Both GMX and Softhome required the user to authenticate via SMTP AUTH or POP first. And I setup both services this way. Only the POP3 and SMTP servers of GMX and Softhome were changed by AVG.

I tried to follow your guidance to send a message to support@softhome.net and hope them to provide the solution.

    Thank you.

    Cheers,

    Firda Yasmin
