For a start right click on My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings and untick Automatically Restart under System Failure.

Your m/c will not then restart, but display the blue screen (BSOD) which may give more details of the error, which you can post here.

    Hmm ......

HF30XP.SYS does not appear to be a Windows XP file

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA suggests a software or device driver error - did it also show Error No 0x00000050 ?

Have you installed any new software/hardware recently.

Have a look in Windows Explorer for HF30XP.Sys and see if it's properties give any clue as to what it is. (You may need to go to Folder Options > View and show hidden and system files.

    double bootup

today my computer started normaly. I searched for the file HF30XP.sys file, (in the task manager iI found HP30service.exe listed in the processes list) and I found it was associated with the program file Hide Folder V3 which I use to hide some personal files. I will now uninstall this program and see if things return to normal, if so I will have to find another alternative . Thank you for your great help it is very much appreciated :)
