    Hello Ehauf
If you will let us know what motherboard and which Athlon 2400 you have, a more clear response can be made.

Usually, I would recommend going with 2-512 sticks instead of a single 1 Gig stick.

The 512 megs you have now, is it a single stick or 2-256 sticks ??
And, how many memory slots are on your MOBO ??

If you have a single stick of PC3200, I would recommend another 512 Meg stick of PC3200 FROM THE SAME manufacturer.

After we find out what MOBO and CPU you have, a more refined answer can be made.

The mobo is an msi kt4v. it only has 1 slot for the 3200 so thats why im stepping down to 2700. The only thing i know about me 2400 is that. its running at 2.0ghz. i cant remember what core it has. ill check tonight. thanks
