WMP9 won't recogise my cd burner (it works with everything else). When I click on 'items on device' the cd burner is not there - just 'D' my zip drive. In 'tools - options - devices' - it is listed there along with everything else - i can add it but it does not appear on the right pane - 'items on device'....grrrr
    please help
    Thanx...

In Tools, Options, Devices, check the properties of that drive and be sure burning has been enabled.

Was the drive added recently or was WMP installed after the drive had already been installed?

Do you have any other burning software on your machine and what types of burning actually work right?

Thanx for your reply, Abraxas - I have other burning programs that work including - Nero, CDRWin & mainly use CDClone. However WMP9 won't let me change the Device type from anything more than 'Removable Disc' (D:) or Supported portable devices'. I have looked at 'Tools - options - devices. and when i select drive E: it still doesn't list E: in the right "pane ".
Ihave 'uninstalled WMP9' - Reinstalled.... Deleted And re- downloaded WMP9..... ?#@%$
Also sucsessfully burnt - ps1's - audio's & mp3's using other programs - but can not seem to get this WMP9 to see my burner..
the Burner came with the machine when i got it - and have sinceinstalled WMP9...

    Thanx for any input...

There have certainly been enough problems with Iomega that I would tend to think that there may lie the problem. I finally gave up with all their unneeded add-ons and found a "driver-only" for download that let me access the drive without the added junk. That solved my changing drive letters and misidentified drives.

But---do you have the Imapi service set to manual (it probably is since I think Nero uses it)?

Control Panel > Admin Tools > Services. Double-click IMAPI.

Also, be sure that when you double-click your drives in WMP > Tools > Options > Devices, that recording is enabled. Check the other settings there, too. I suspect these are not just for WMP but global, but it couldn't hurt to check them.
