I don't understand what you are asking. All files are stored on the hard drive of your computer. If you go to My Computer and open that it shows you your drives. If you double click on the C: drive it will show you all the folders and files on that drive. In the folder Program Files you will see most of your programs in that folder. If you are looking for a file or folder and you don't know where it is at on your hard drive use Search. Start Button > Search. Type in the name of the file or folder you are looking for.

countrygal--Still not too clear to me. Do you mean how to find files on a PC?
If so, click Start|Find|Files or Folders|type name of file in Named line. Be sure the Look In line has the name of the drive in which you want to search, like C: . Click Find Now.
If you are not sure of the name of the file or what file extension it has, you can type as much of the name as you think is correct and then * . The * serves as a wildcard. In your case you might just enter Spector in the Named line.
P.S. All the above is based on Win98. I do not know if Find is in the same place in other OS'es. You could also click the Windows and F keys simultaneously.

Right click on the taskbar and bring up the running processes and applications. Post them here.

Ah - got it now. Thanks.

If this is a stand alone PC (not on a network) there are things you can look for.

If you are on a network, monitoring can be done remotely. In that case there probably wouldn't be anything stored on your PC so could be difficult or impossible to find.

You'll need to give more detail including what OS you run, local or networked, and if you are only looking for keystroke monitoring or other things.

Anywhere someone would want to put something like that.
    First try these online scans.
    Housecall, online AV scan
    Online Trojan Scan
Then download SpyBot Search & Destroy, update it first, then do the scan. Remove anything already checked off when the scan is complete.
HijackThis helps identify IE hijackers, and will do a removal, but post the log here before doing anything on your own with this program. It will show everything running at startup.
Lastly, if you have a good firewall, you would know if anything is connecting out and sending information about you, and I don't mean XP's if that is the OS you are using. It does nothing to control what is connecting out.
    ZoneAlarm Free
    Kerio Personal Firewall

There also is a small piece of hardware that connects between the keyboard and computer. Like a card reader, records all keystrokes. It won't show itself within your computer, but easy to find.

If you can find the file Sysbot.Exe [the executable for Spector Pro?], you may find the others.
