Photoshop CS - keyboard shortcuts...

I've recently installed Photoshop CS, but the keyboard shortcuts do not work!

If I run Photshop 7, everything is fine, but switch it back to CS and nothing! No Ctrl+N, Ctrl+I, nothing!

The Ctrl key is active however, as its' effect on the current cursor can be seen when it is depressed, as are the other keys (M for marquee tool, B for brush tool etc.), it's just when they are used in combination.

I have checked the shortcuts in "Preferences ", and they are set as Photoshop standard.

Anyone else experienced similar problems?
