I read that. I don't think that is what it meant, unless I'm just not understanding it that way. What does a pop-up ad have to do with a cookie that tells my Excite to save my personalized settings? Did I miss something? :(

I'm not sure Panda, but it appears that if you go to Excite,
with no popup blocker, you get the "special cookie "
which enable members area or something like that
    Go figure

It does seem it has something to do with the popup blocker. I don't know why it would do this though. I've never experienced any trouble with my excite page and I've always allowed the popup blocker to block their popups. As a work around or until we can find a different explanation for this, you should be able to do like it says on the help page. Once the excite page has loaded, click on the button on the toolbar that shows how many popups have been blocked. That should add excite to the list of sites where popups are allowed. If you want to remove it from the list, while visiting excite, click the same button again.

Panda--Since Google Toolbar is in the Control Panel|Add/Remove Programs list, it should be pretty simple to uninstall, see what happens, and then, if you wish reinstall.
