    TRoof,

    Try one more thing:

Move all your "Sent" messages to another Mail folder. You can create a new folder for them in your Mail Account.

Next, close Netscape and go to your ~\*.slt\Mail\Mail Account folder, and delete these two files:
    Sent
    Sent.msf

When you restart Netscape it will build a new Sent folder.

Now send a message to yourself. Does it work?

If not, last resort is to create a new Profile.

BTW, do delete your XUL.mfl file. It most likely is quite large. This file is the XUL fast load file. Contains precompiled chrome and JavaScript.
See this page for more information on Netscape/Mozilla files:

Did all the things you suggested but sorry to say nothing has changed. I was hopeful for a moment when I sent my first test it came back but then I sent another imediatly and it still has not arrived.

If I go the new profile route what can I salvage from my old profile i.e. mail, desktop, custom setting etc. without transfering the same problem to the new profile? Could I do the trial and error route?

    Thanks

    TRoof,

You won't lose anything when creating a new Profile. I have it all laid out for users here: Create a New Profile

Back up the existing Profile before you begin, as noted in the above guideline.

Ramona and Bobcat and fellow MSBBS er’s

First let me apologize for the delay from the last posting and any new readers that had to read through the preceding to get to this post.
Anyhow I think the problem has been resolved with my inability to send email.
First I should give some added information that I did not include in my original posting since it didn’t seem to make any difference at the time.
A little history. I originally signed up with a local ISP in Colo. which offered monthly service for $14.95 if used less then 30 hrs. a month. Then it jumped to $19.95 a month flat rate for unlimited access after 30hrs. I had established my email address with this ISP for a couple of years and was happy with their remote access numbers, connection speed was good and their tech support was very good. ( actually have 24hr English speaking techie’s that are happy to help with ISP problems, sometimes will help with Netscape and Windows problems also but this is frowned upon by management) Then one day while shopping Wal-mart I took home a Wal-mart connect CD. As it turned out they charge $9.94 a month for unlimited access and one free month. I signed up for the free month. To my surprise I was still able to use my original email address and my Netscape mail worked as usual. The good part of all this was I was not being charged any fee by my original ISP as long as I did not log on for even a second for the month. I was able to have the best of both worlds, I had the ability to log on through Wal-mart in many more locations ( I move around a lot) for only $9.94 a month and still keep my original email address.
As it turns out Wal-mart seems to be the problem even though it just started happening. According to my original ISP sometimes a provider such as Wal-mart will block messages not sent through their mail server as a way to combat spam. I contacted Wal-marts tech support help line to see it this was actually the problem. I think this service is farmed out to somewhere in a land far, far away. After explaining the problem to the nice lady who spoke with very broken English, she assured me she would make the problem "disappearâ€. She went through her scripted trouble shooting flow chart. A lot of the fixes were ones I had already tried. Anyhow when she was unable to make the problem disappear I was assigned a reference number and was told it would be passed on to others to try to come up with a solution. Have not heard from them since. I guess the solution is to cancel Wal-mart and find another provider in the same price range that would allow me to keep my original email address and would allow me to send my email using my original SMTP.
Oh yea a one more bit of information. I usually live in parts of the country where DSL is not offered so I am stuck with a dial up connection if there is a phone line handy.
Well that’s it in a large nutshell. Anyhow I at least hope this may help anyone else with a similar problem.

Thanks Bobcat and Ramona and this great service. Keep up the good work.
