Trying to boot up with CD to install XP on older pc, it's
an ASUS P3B-F with P-II 350, it has the newest bios.
When it starts, normally to boot from CD I have to press
a key, but it says "no imulation" and boots the CD, then
it freezes at Loading (Kernal Debugger DLL)...

Is this MB not going to work with XP?

The firmware update released in 2000 sometime should have gotten that board to work with XP although there are probably later ones that do better.

But from what I read, an updated ASUS P3B-F should work.

Have you tried using the floppy set to start things? Not sure why but especially some older systems don't deal well with a CD boot to load the OS.

You are right Newt, it does have the 2000 bios update and it does work. I pulled out 1 stick of sdram that I wasn't too sure about and now XP is loading fine.
    :)
