I just unpacked a new PC for a friend and connected it all up. When I turned it on the monitor gave a message saying no video input and the hard drive was giving out a constant beeping noise.
I'm sure the PC was all connected properly.

    Hi Merlin

Merlin, its actually a friends PC and I can't tell you if they did or not. I guess it was just shipped to their door in boxes and them being amatures didn't realise.

My first guess would be something came unseated, or unplugged. But it may void the warranty if you crack the case.

Depending on the bios make, a constant beeping noise normally means the memory has a problem or is not seated in its slot or the video card is loose in its slot. These can easily be checked.

I agree on not opening it up though, just send it back, its under warranty I hope?

By the way I have never heard of a hard drive beeping before, I guess you mean the case speaker is beeping?

    Regards

Have a look at the monitor connectors - especially the male one and see if any pins are bent. If so pull them upright and try again.
    regards
