Can't save images in Netscape 7.1

I cannot save images from Netscape 7.1. When I right click an image, I get a menu that includes "Save Image as . . ." and I can navigate to a folder to save the file. Everything looks like it worked, but when I look for the image later, the file is nowhere to be found on my hard drive.

I am using XP Pro. I also use Netscape 7.1 at work on an NT machine and on my backup computer at home with Win98 and the "Save Image As . . . " works just fine on those machines. I don't believe it is a virus issue. I run Norton AV scan regularly and keep my virus files up to date. I am guessing it is a registry issue, but I can't find anything to point me to where to look.

Has anyone else seen this problem? Any suggestions?

 

Hi bobcat,

Try this:
Click on Tools | Download Manager
Highlight all files listed
Click on the "Remove from list" tab
Now try saving an image.

Post back if you continue to have problems.

Download Manager Does Not Appear

I HAVE THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM. SAVE IMAGES WAS WORKING FINE AND THEN IT STOPPED. I TRIED TO SELECT 'DOWNLOAD MANAGER' AND THE DROP-DOWN WINDOW DID NOT APPEAR ON MY XP MACHINE. (IT APPEARS ON MY MAC COMPUTER, SO I SEE WHAT YOU ARE SAYING), HOW CAN I PROCEED?

Close Netscape and Quick Launch
Delete these files:

compreg.dat
This file is located here:
C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape\components

downloads.rdf
This file is located in your *.slt folder. See: Profiles Folder Location
