I have broadband at home, shared to my XP computer through my Win2000 computer. The "server" is on all the time, but I turn off the XP for the night. The problem is that after a boot, it doesn't have my setup for the home network, I have to create a new one, if even just to access the internet. It's like it doesn't save it.
Why does it do this? What can I do about it?

Are you using ICS with 2K as host and XP as client?

Is XP set to automatically get IP values?

When you first start the XP system, what IP address, subnetmask, default gateway entries do you have?

Moving this to the networking section.

Yup, using ICS just like that.
It should be set to automatically get the values.
Was going to check the IP, and subnetmask with a reboot, but it seems to have cured itself, as the network was fine with this reboot.
Worked fine before my formatting of XP computer, but I hope it really fixed itself.

Glad it's working. If it quits again, we can certainly revisit the issue.

Well, after a couple of reboots it looks to have done one of those unexplained "fix-ups" Windows is most famous of(right after the infamous mess-ups they have).
    Working fine.
