Running Win XP Home and having problems when viewing videos on launch.yahoo.com website.
They will play for a short time and then will crash the system.
If this helps, this is the technical error I am getting:
    STOP: 0X000007E(0X80000003,0X8051D76C,0XF8979CA0,0XF89799A0)

    Thanks for your help!

Troubleshoot Windows XP Professional might help you.

But the stop error strings you posted aren't possible. Too few numbers in a couple of them.

Check your event logs for warnings/errors that offer more detail.

Set your system not to auto restart after a stop error so you will get a blue screen with more detail.

Post back with any additional information you can get.

    Event Log

Oops I did miss one number. When I viewed the event, here's what it said:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x1000007e (0x80000003, 0x8051d76c, 0xf8969ca0, 0xf89699a0). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini010104-06.dmp

Not sure if this is much help.

    Ooof. OK. Progress.

0x1000007e is usually the same error as 0x0000007e but rare to see in an English version of windows.

0x80000003: STATUS_BREAKPOINT means a breakpoint or ASSERT was encountered when no kernel debugger was attached to the system.

Starting with the /debug switch (default is /nodebug) would probably stop that specific error but would give you worse nonsense than I just posted.

High probability that you have a bad video driver or a video driver that XP hates. To figure out which one, you really need to see the whole stop error and that is easiest done from a Blue Screen Of Death that you will get if you turn off the feature to restart after a crash of this kind. The guilty party should be included in the error message.

    Right-click My Computer then left-click
    properties~advanced~startup & recovery settings

Then uncheck the box for 'Automatically Restart' and next crash it will tell you what is causing the problem.
