    I had goten a new browser so I let it set the .jpeh .jpg and .gif files to it and everythign was fine but it didn't give the preveiw in the sides anymore. I went int othe folder options and foudn them and clicked the "set default" thinking it would go back to useing IE and return the picture preveiws.
    I was sorely wrong... now not only does it not show the preveiws they won't load into my browser but strangly enough any web files are fine.

    Gods help me before I pull my hair out!:mad:

    My new (internet) browser is Mozilla Firebird... I managed to fix half my problem atleast on my own just by looking at the other file types once I calmed down and got a touch of sleep.
    Aparently when I hit default it set the Default content type to something else....
    Now I just have to figure out how to get the preveiw back i nthe (winbdows) explorer sidebar, under the file type I had even clicked the "Show Quick Veiw" but it does nothing
    I've also included this snapshot of my screen here to let you see what is done [IMG]

    Hi

    if you mean you've lost the image previews which you should see in Windows Explorer when it's set to "View as Web Page" this thread will help...

    ==

    ...nice Cacodemon for "My Computer" icon on your example!

    there's a much easier way to associate a file type than editing it "longhand" as you show in your screenshot. Highlight the file (in Windows Explorer), then hold down "shift" and right click the file... this gives you the option "Open With..." - select this option and you can choose from a list of programs...

    If you can find the program you want to use to open the file with in that list, select it - and check the box for "Always use this program to open this type of file ", then OK it... which does the hard work for you.

    best wishes, HJ.
